Zoo Series Scrapbook Design

Jolene Neo
July 10th, 2007

Hey! I bet you will bring your kids or love ones to the zoo one day! My Joy loves to go to zoo. She gets very excited when she sees the animals. I really recommend that you bring them there. This is a FREE template for you to download. Please check the terms & conditions before using. After downloading, you need to unzipped the file. You may open the file in any photo editing software. All you need to do is to place 3 favorite photos behind my design. I have also left the right side of the template empty, so that you could place your own caption & stories. I am now exploring a very popular free open source graphic editing program, called GIMP, in order for you to do fairly simple copying & pasting using my template. So stay tune!

My Album

Jolene Neo
July 3rd, 2007

Who says digital scrapbook has to be square? The traditional digital scrapbook design is usually prepared in 12 inch x 12 inch. Most of the galleries that was posted on the internet are also in a square format.

I have been thinking about it for some time. I want my digital scrapbook to be different! A 12 inch x12 inch scrapbook requires a A3 size printer for printing. This would be a big investment you don’t really need to other than printing for your scrapbook. If you already have a A4 printer, it also makes no sense to invest in another one which will take up lots of room space. But a A4 printer, can only print a max 8 inch x 8 inch design. This size is relatively small. So I decided to maximize my A4 printer & bought 2 A4 ring photo albums. These albums was purchased from Prints-international . If you are Singaporean, you may find this shop at CityLink. This is a 20 x2 = 40 page album. I choose black for the inside as I want my print out to stand out against the background. Each album cost me roughly S$30+ during a sale which I thought was really a good buy.

Winter Sonata Photo Retouching Tip

Jolene Neo
June 24th, 2007

Have you been to the Winter Sonata Shooting Scene in Korea? The shooting scene is located at Nami Island which we need to take a short ferry to reach there. In my last Korea trip, I was very hopeful & excited before going to the island. But when we reached there, it was already 5pm in the evening. Night falls at about 5.30pm during the winter season in Korea. So we had only 30mins to explore the island before night falls. It took us 20mins to reached the famous 2 rows of trees where the exact shooting scenes were located. So we had only 10mins to take photos! It was really a rush! Luckily, we had a great travel mates who loves to take photos like us. So we helped each other to take pictures. All the photos turn out really bad :( due to the lighting condition. To make matter worse, there were many passer-by which we couldnt get rid off when we were taking the photos.

When I came back to hotel that day, I was really disappointed looking at the photos taken. So I was determine to use photoshop to help me beautify the photos.
